'Stoke Bring Trophy Home
12 May 2008
Town have secured their first trophy since 1997 with a 1-0 win over Hampshire rivals Farnborough in the Hants Senior Cup, 'Stoke won thanks to a James Taylor tap in after their keeper spilled a Scott Fitzgerald strike.

The game was watched by the new manager Frank Gray as well as over five hundred 'Stoke fans who made the trip up to Dean Court to wittness the victory which is nothing but the players and fans deserve after a year of problems off the pitch.

SC Hants Cup Final Travel

Basingstoke take on Farnborough in the Hampshire Cup Final at Deane Court, Bournemouth, on May 10th in what promises to be a challenging contest. Basingstoke will be looking to put one over on their Hampshire rivals after a 1-0 defeat in the Hampshire Cup Final of 2005/6.

Basingstoke started their Hants Cup campaign, back in November, with a visit to the Isle of Wight to take on Brading Town, in which 'Stoke came out on top of a 2-1 result. Basingstoke then faced Winchester City at the Camrose and bagged a 5-0 victory. It was then that Basingstoke faced last years winners Aldershot and it took extra time for Basingstoke to come out 2-1 winners. Basingstoke's semi final opponents were last years runners up Fleet Town. Goals from James Taylor, Michael Charles and Ty Smith gave Basingstoke a 3-0 result and a chance for the 'Stoke to end the season with a trophy.

Town Earn Draw at Stortford
07 Apr 2008
Basingstoke who welcomed back first team regulars Ben Surey and Steve Laidler earned a point with a 0-0 draw at Woodside Park, Mat Neems who earned his first start for 'Stoke went closest hitting the bar from 8 yards out.

'Stoke face top of the league Lewes at home on Saturday when they visit The Camrose.

Good 2nd Half Display Earns Town Point
30 Mar 2008
Town grabbed a point in a good battling second half performance where there were chances for either side to win. 'Stoke went 1-0 down just before half time through Ledgister ( 43), but Michael Charles (66) earned town a point with a good header.

Both teams pushed for the win but in poor conditions on the pitch neither team could find the winner. A good point for 'Stoke after last weeks performance against Bath.

Town are away to Bishop's Stortford next Saturday who are sitting in 5th place and looking good for a play off space.
