BTFC Teams Round Up- August
1 Sep 2009
This is a new monthly post which keeps an eye on how the other sides of Basingstoke Town FC are doing.

Reserves

It has been a mixed start to the season for Dom Cunliffe's men. They had a very strong pre-season which saw them win seven and draw one, including victories over the first teams of Andover and Tadley. However, their Suburban League Championship defence hasn't started as hoped with one win and three defeats from the opening games. First team squad players Ian Jones, Gary Frewen, Tom Walsh, Craig Smith and Craig Atkinson have all appeared for the Reserves this season. Other players in the Reserves squad who have appeared for the first team in the past include Luke Williams, Dean Peltohaka, Marc Vockins, Dave Cates and Jason Minton.

Academy (Under 18's)

Jason Bristows side have not yet begun their Conference Youth League South A Division campaign. Pre-season has seen them win one, draw three and loose three. They kick-off the season in the FA Youth Cup on the 10th September away at Binfield. Their first league game is away against Chelsea Foundation Weymouth on the 16th September.

Ladies

The ladies first team are managed by Steve Pike and they compete in the Southern Region Women's Football league Division One after gaining promotion last season. They have started the season superbly again with three wins from three, sitting at the top of the league with the only 100% record in the division. Tracy Jones is currently their top scorer with five goals, including a hat-trick against Newbury.

Ladies Reserves

The ladies reserve side is now going into its second season. They compete in the Hampshire County Women's League Division Three. They kick-off their season on the 13th September away at Salisbury City Reserves.
