'Stoke produced their best result of the season going to second in the table Dover and coming back with all three points.
Town started well
after Dover pushed forward but two own goals by Dover saw town take a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.
'Stoke were playing a very effective counter
attacking game which they have done away from home all season.
But 'stoke conceeded a sloppy goal after failing to clear their lines and just
before half time Jon Wallis beat the offside trap to get Dover back into it, the 'Stoke fans were hoping it wasnt going to a case of da ja
vue.
'Stoke were under constant pressure in the second half and were trying to him Dover on the counter and after Dover wasted countless
chances 'stoke made 3-1 on the 78th minute after a fine Finlay pass found Pratt who turned the defender and fired the ball home from just inside the
area via a deflection.
Town now just had to see the remaining 12 minutes out but with just injury time remaining a innocuous challange by
Franks in the area resulted in the referee pointing to the spot and Jon Wallis stepped up and converted the penalty. Town held on to secure the win
that moved them back upto 6th.
