Match report
Perfect Start For Vines

In Francis Vines first match in charge he more a less secured our survival in the Conference South for another year with a 4-0 thumping away win at Yeading.

Vines made six new signings before the transfer deadline Jamie Gosling and Guiseppe Sole started with Nick Beasant and Jerome Maledon making the bench.

Town started brightly and had most of the play in the opening twenty minutes of the game, but just before we opened the scoring Yeading had a chance as they got past our defence but found Searle in form and tipped the shot over from Steve Wales.

We took the lead on 32 minutes after a Free kick wasn’t dealt with and Taylor put the rebound away. Eight minutes later Town were 2-0 up when their keeper Blackmore failed to deal with a timid Lewis Cook shot and the ball fell to Taylor who slotted home into the empty net.

Town were playing with real confidence now and just before half time the game was all but over when a corner wasn’t dealt with properly and the ball found David Ray on the edge of the box and he volleyed the ball past Blackmore to make it 3-0.

Just after the restart Town made it 4-0 as Sole picked up the ball there looked to be nothing on so he hit the ball from the edge of the box past blackmore into the top left of the net a great strike that summed up the way we were playing full of confidence and willing to shoot.

The rest of the match was a non event really with the game won, Yeading had a couple of chances but Searle dealt with them.

Just shows what a change of management can do we seemed to play the ball along the floor today and all players looked reborn and full of confidence especially Lewis Cook and Taylor.
